Apparent power

The term 'Apparent power' as it applies to the area of energy can be defined as '  The product of the voltage (in volts) and the current (in amperes). It comprises both active and reactive power. It is measured in 'volt-amperes' and often expressed in 'kilovolt-amperes' (kVA) or 'megavolt-amperes' (MVA). See Power, Reactive Power, Real Power'.
